About Boomtown
What is Boomtown?
The Iowa Pyrotechnic Association holds an annual meeting to discuss current issues and show off what they've created. The event had been held on private property, but due to growth in the membership they decided it would be best to hold the event somewhere else.
The IPA contacted Vinton Unlimited in 2007 about having some sort of an event for the community at the Benton County Fairgrounds. After much discussion and planning, Boomtown Vinton was born.
The event will continue in Vinton for as long as it is welcomed.

____________
Location
Boomtown takes place at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Vinton, Iowa. The best seats are in the grandstands at the fairgrounds to catch all the ground effects. For those not at the fairgrounds, 13th Street offers good viewing opportunities, along with nearby parks and parking lots. Tune into 93.5 FM for live event coverage during the evening.
____________
At the Benton County Fairgrounds
Live entertainment near the beer tent is free, and many vendors will be set up on-site with a variety of food choices. It is recommended you come early to claim your spot in the grassy seating area or in the grandstands, as these areas will fill up quickly.
The night will start off at dusk with some 'warm-ups' and demonstrations before the Grand Public Display at approximately 9pm.
